Today has been a mix of productivity and contemplation. I applied to three jobs, each a potential step forward in my career, but the tension of needing to get back to work has been on my mind. The job market in gaming is competitive, but I’m staying optimistic—after all, you never know unless you try.
On the creative side, I made some solid progress, sketching three new characters and designing a few clothing accessories. These designs feel like they’re coming together, and it’s exciting to see how they might fit into my ongoing project. Speaking of which, I’m currently debating whether to implement a player creation system in the game using presets. It’s still up in the air, but I’m leaning toward building it. The idea of giving players more customization options feels like the right move for the project’s long-term engagement.
In between the job applications and design work, I’m pushing forward with the character designs—possibly even moving them into Blender 3D later today. I also need to dive into the game mechanics soon, but we’ll see how much I can tackle. It’s a balancing act between creativity and technical work, but that’s the life of a game developer.
Oh, and the gym is on the list too, though I’m not exactly looking forward to it. Sometimes, pushing through the physical tasks can feel like just as much of a challenge as the creative ones, but it’s all part of the process of staying balanced and sharp.
That’s my day today—fueled by the drive to keep moving forward, even when things feel tense. The journey continues, one sketch, one job application, and one game mechanic at a time.
